Virginia, Eddie & Gloria, Robert & Edna, Will & Rachael, Ron & Billie, and Steve & Darlene.  Of the five states in  Region-N, North Carolina had the largest number of participants at the rally, and NC-E2 with 18 was the second largest NC chapter in attendance (the winner had 22).  Maybe next year….

The Marriott is an absolutely beautiful hotel with fantastic convention facilities, great rooms, and reserved (and video monitored) parking for bikes and trailers.  Everything at the rally site was first class and indoors: opening and closing ceremonies, fourteen vendors, games, bike show, and Rider Education and Leadership Training Seminars.  Off-campus, there was an ice cream social and a Blue Grass Festival on Friday night in downtown Kingsport.  On Saturday, we had the opportunity to ride on the race track at NASCAR’s Bristol Motor Speedway, tour their Visitor’s Center, and then spend a few hours exploring a huge flea market before returning to the rally site to play more games, purchase more bling, buy 50:50 tickets, attend closing ceremonies, and then go our for one last dinner in Tennessee.

It is noteworthy that while we had eighteen members attend this rally, everyone pretty much rode their own rides 450 miles both to and from the rally.  Lee & Sandy, Pat & M.C., Eddie & Gloria, Larry & VA, and David & Wanda all traveled alone.  Darlene, Steve, Billie & Ron rode together and stayed with Steve’s parent’s in nearby VA.  Robert & Edna and Will & Rachael rode together, arrived on Friday, and then joined in on all the rally activities.   For the return trip on Sunday, everyone once again pretty much did their own thing with people individually departing the hotel at: 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00.
