Come Join Us and the Fun!

A very nice table for eight was arranged for us on the second level, and the service and the meal were both quite good.  The random drawing from the “Stuff the Box” dinner options is working really well so far.

There was a great deal of chatter about Wing-Ding and how that experience went.  I was disappointed to hear that the drill team/top gun event was rained out, and that due to showers in the area, the grand parade didn’t establish a new Guinness record for the most motorcycles of the same brand in a single parade.  But otherwise, it sounded like good meals abounded and despite the huge size of this event, the E2’ers were able to hook up with one another at least once.  The conversation quickly turned to one of what’s next?  And that of course brought up Wings over the Smokies which unbelievably is only a little more than two months away.  NC-E2 already has seventeen folks signed up for WOS, and I’m sure that we will get some late registrants as well.  It would be nice if we got to a nice round number like… twenty!  Maybe there are a small handful of undecided in the Chapter who will decide to attend later.  WOS is a wonderful rally with lots to do and almost two hundred vendors; all of whom are quite willing to take your $$$$ in exchange for safety chrome, safety lights, and safety clothing.  In addition, there is clearly no shortage of bling, tires, trailers, trikes, campers, etc.  WOS remains my favorite rally of all, and Sandy and I are looking forward to attending once again.

We have a couple of special rides coming up soon: the NC-X inaugural chapter meeting on July 26 and a special dinner ride to Deadwood on Saturday, August 2.  Both of these rides will be fun, and I know we have a lot of folks that are looking forward to the Deadwood dinner ride.  Please try and reserve these dates on your calendars so you don’t miss out on them.

THE VIEW FROM THE CD’S WINDSHIELD

             By:  Lee Fortier, Chapter Director

Sandy and I just returned from a really nice ride on the 1800 down to Edenton, NC for dinner at Waterman’s, accompanied by George and Millie on their 1500.   When we arrived at the Restaurant, Paul and Paula, and Clyde and Jane were already there, having opted for their four-wheeled vehicles.
